Announcing Scotland Photography Workshop
2020 impacted all of us, from an emotional to an artistic point of view, but it also gave us the chance to stop and think about what matters to us, what we want to do next.
We always seem to wish for something more or something different than what we can do today. What we think will always make us happy and fulfilled, is photography. And in 2021, when all the restrictions are over, we want to teach others what we’ve learned in the last 10 years, from composition to practice and much more.
Therefore, in 2021 we are announcing a Scotland photography workshop, the place that despite the rain, wind and storms has one of the most diverse landscapes in Europe.

What we found during the years traveling to Scotland, is that the weather unpredictability is a bonus rather than a drawback. Showers often come with cloudy skies that give us the opportunity of a good light for the entire duration of the day. After the first few days you will start seeing the rain coming, predict it and use it in your images as atmospheric element.

Being on an island is also a great advantage. Surrounded by water, cliffs, hills and rocky terrain gives us the opportunity to play with our surroundings without getting stuck on the same scenery. Today your subject is a beach, tomorrow a mountain, the day after tomorrow a cliff; you will never get bored, the landscape will inspire new compositions at every step of the way.

For us, this island tears us apart and reconstructs us. Each time we are here we become two different people that manage again to find themselves, and we hope this will happen to you as well, once you find it’s charm.

Of course, being on the field and actually making photos is just part of the workshop. Our goal is for all of you to learn new photographic concepts, new compositional elements and post processing techniques that would help you improve your images in the long run.

How we plan to do this?
By building the foundations of composition and include it our daily photographic exploration on the field. Then, once each of us practiced the concepts we’ve learned, we can go back and discuss our achievements, as a group, and focus on composition improvements as well as post processing techniques (you can find more information about the workshop here).

What you will learn is that there is no right or wrong way of composing an image, each of us has it’s own, unique vision and that is what we will try to grow during this one week workshop. Still, there are some compositional and post processing elements that will help you see things differently, that will show you how to work your subject and get the most out of an image.

There is no clear recipe that will help you create extraordinary images, our goal is for you to find your own artistic voice and the courage to embrace it, no matter if others like it or not.
If this sounds like the perfect place to grow your photographic skills in 2021, embark in an artistic journey with us and reserve your seat here.
